What is included in the standard rate?
The standard hourly rate is calculated based on the actual time and costs associated with each hour of shooting. It includes 1 hour actual shooting time onsite, 3-4 hours of editing (typically preparing up to 50 images), equipment use (cameras, lenses, lighting etc.), my assistant (if applicable) and administration (office, IT infrastructure, building/maintaining online gallery, communications etc.). Overtime by prior arrangement. If you hire me as a second shooter I will use my equipment and transfer the raw images to your device unless you wish otherwise.
What are Commissioned Events?
Commissioned Events are where I am engaged by an event organiser to be an official photographer. The organiser pays an amount to cover a portion of the standard rate. This allows us to offer subsidised prices in the online gallery so that quality images are more affordable to event participants, e.g. sports club members and their families.
Where are you located? Do I need to come to you?
(01)
I am based in Bakers Hill about 80 km from Perth, Western Australia. I have my own private studio in a dedicated building on my bush block.
I am happy to consider traveling to a location of your choosing.
What is your pricing structure? Do you do TFP?
(02)
I have an open and transparent pricing policy that reflects my commitment to producing beautiful images for you.
I welcome collaboration with other artists and Time For digital Prints (TFP) is certainly an option.
What can I expect on the day of my shoot?
(03)
The shoot day is a special day where we will get to know each other better and have fun while we tell your story. I love what I do and I want to capture the best you.
What kind of gear do you use?
(04)
My equipment is professional and absolutely fit for purpose. This includes multiple Nikon mirrorless camera bodies, lenses, studio premises and lighting, IT infrastructure (compute, network, storage, security) etc.
Do I have to order prints through you?
(05)
Absolutely not. You don't even have to buy the print quality digital images if you don't plan on printing them yourself. A high volume athletics event may be more suited to social media sized digital images.
Fine art and portrait images should be printed using quality materials from a trusted printer.
I want to keep the raw files and final images. Can we do that?
(06)
Yes. I am prepared to sign a contract in order to protect your privacy and rights to any photographs taken during a session and images produced using those photographs.
The session/image costs will be subject to an industry standard multiplier of 3x.
